With post Pandemic scenarios after 2019 December, COVID 19 has led us to dive deep into sustainable development at work front, tackling social issues and financial crunch.
Our children have been affected the most specially the generation Alpha and initially generation Z. Question then arises to find solutions to handle Social Emotional Learning ,Emotional Intelligence and imbibe the same in our day to day challenges.
Our approach is there by to educate our younger generation by providing them a safe environment through a dynamic learning process. It should be a process of developing Social Awareness and enhancing responsible decision making abilities in our children.
Social Emotional Learning is an educational concept where children gain skills beyond mathematics, reading and core subjects. It helps children to bond well with their friends and make good empathetic decisions. If we can instil appropriate social ways to understand others feelings in our children, they can regulate their thoughts and actions as their finest disposition of Interpersonal Relationships amidst adversity.
In this highly digitalised era skills are needed in our children to thrive in the decades ahead. Every child has to raise their bar and we should invest in their training and education in Life Skills and People Skills based on NEP (National Education Policy) guidelines.
As a Counsellor my objective becomes more profound to channelize the children to have the right career to pursue according to their skillsets,talent and passion. It becomes need of the hour in today’s competitive world with technology taking a lead to showcase the correct career for our children. Also, there are immense career pathways for the children of GenZ and Alpha children. The world is extricating more avenues for the children of 21st Century. Its our responsibility and expertise to create awareness and options for them in the fast changing scenarios to make them excel in their right career, right skill and be hands on ready for the world once they are out of school and college to face the challenges having made the appropriate career choice.
Role of a Counsellor is to bridge the gap between the child and parent in helping them to show the direction in career selection. A Counsellor provides support and guidance with tools to navigate the child in their journey of life right from elementary school. Being a facilitator, educator and assessor personalised training by the Counsellor being updated on counselling with best practises and ethical guidelines is a reward to the community.
